Ready to have your best golf season ever? Take your game to a new level with this three-part golf assessment, training and conditioning workshop aimed at improving your swing and amping up your fitness. The goal: to get you golf ready before the season begins.
Philadelphia personal trainer and Titleist Performance Institute-certified golf guru Gwinyai Murahwa will lead the series, offering his expertise on all aspects of the game. The workshops — part-active discussions, part-workouts — will cover:
- Workshop 1: Golf Fitness Assessment and Workout (February 11th, 1-2:30 pm) // You'll learn about the proper swing sequence and kinetic chain — in other words, how your body functions (or should function) in relation to your swing. Your golf fitness will be assessed to identify weaknesses and areas needing improvement in your swing, and you'll participate in a golf-specific group workout.
- Workshop 2: Perfecting Your Swing: 12 Common Swing Mistakes and Corrections (February 18th, 1-2:30 pm) // Now comes your deep dive into where your swing is going wrong. Gwi will explain and demonstrate — with your participation — the aspects of the golf swing that commonly go awry due to lack of strength, and offer specific exercise corrections to help you improve. The workshop ends with a golf-specific workout.
- Workshop 3: Total Golf Conditioning and Training Program (February 25th, 1-2:30 pm) // Get ready to sweat. The workshop is pure workout, designed to help you get into top golfing shape. You'll also get a training guide to take home, as well as nutrition tips to fuel your game.
Golfers may bring their own clubs, but clubs aren't required. If you are bringing a club, make it a 7 Iron. Comfortable workout clothes and sneakers are a must.

About Gwinyai Murahwa
Philadelphia personal trainer and TPI-certified golf guru
Gwinyai is one of the top fitness trainers in Philadelphia, and co-owner of ITrainLion in Philadelphia and Lancaster. While he loves to train one-on-one and lead boot camp classes, his true passion lies in golf. Gwinyai has been playing the game since the age of six. He played at the top junior level, which earned him a scholarship to the Division 1 Jacksonville State University Team in Jacksonville, Alabama; he played on the same team as current U.S. Masters Champion Daniel Willett. After completing college, Gwinyai moved to Philadelphia and pursued finance but couldn’t escape his passion for fitness and golf. He switched his career and earned certifications with the National Academy of Sports Medicine, and then took it a step further and earned his Titleist Performance Institute Certification, which honed his specialization in golf fitness and biomechanics. The Titleist Performance Institute Certification sets the bar for golf fitness, and 22 of the top 35 ranked players in the world are advised by TPI Certified Experts. Gwinyai has combined his knowledge of the game, his experiences with clients and his Titleist Performance Institute Certification to help anyone of all ages who wants to improve their golf fitness, their biomechanics and, most important, their game.
